What drinking celery juice for 3 weeks did to me!

My schedule can get a bit hectic at times and very often that has made taking care of my body very difficult. Even thought I was going to the gym, I constantly felt drained.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 explicitly instructs us to take care of our bodies,

" Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?  For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [a]and in your spirit, which are God’s" (NKJV).

This verse often challenges me to question how good am I taking care of my body and overall health. My answer was a, not so good, so it was obvious that I needed to make a change. I wanted to do a better job in taking care of my temple but I wanted to be realistic too. I did not drastically turn into a vegan or give up sugar, I decided to take a baby step into change. A little goes a long way right?

After deciding that I wanted to make a change in my health, I had a random conversation about food and health from my friend Anthony, and he advised that I start drinking celery juice. I was a bit skeptical about his advisement but I decided to give it a try and by doing so for 3 weeks, the following 3 things happened!!!

1.) I was full throughout the day:

I am a foodie at heart and so the sight of food literally makes me happy (judge away). I noticed after the first week of drinking celery juice, I was fuller throughout the day. As a result, my serving size for lunch and dinner was a lot smaller. Many people may not know that celery is very rich in fiber and fiber is the very thing that makes you full. Furthermore, my cravings decreased, my gut health improved and I was less bloated throughout the day. My work dresses began to fit in the tummy area, just the way I wanted!! ****Hits the dougie***

2.) I had more energy:

Coffee is still bae but coffee was no longer needed to jump start my day or give me that extra boost of energy in the mid-afternoon. I had a lot of energy drinking celery juice and noticed that my coffee intake began to decrease. I found myself drinking more tea and the desperation of needing coffee began to decline. I still drink coffee because I enjoy its bitter taste but I do not rely on its caffeine content.

3.) I had a glow about me

I am not sure if it was just the celery juice or my foundation from Cover FX , but I felt like I had a nice little glow about myself at week 3. Since celery juice acts as a diuretic, it flushes out the toxins in your body and as a result, your skin has a beautiful radiant glow to it. I have received many compliments about my makeup looking good and I really attribute it to the celery juice. I may not be a professional makeup artist but I do know that your skin is the canvas to your makeup so if you want your makeup to look good, you have to work on your skin. As a fyi, I do not have perfect skin but i have been using some effective products from Urban Skin RX, Banish, Sunday Riley, and Drunk Elephant.

It has now been about 5 weeks and I drink a cup of celery juice a couple of times per week and I still feel fabulous and energetic.

If you are up for trying celery juice but do not know how or where to start, here is a helpful clip on how you can make it. Enjoy and please let me know how your experience has been.
