The Truth About Singleness

Being single isn't a curse. In fact being single does not mean that something is wrong with you.

Being single is not easy. There are many times when loneliness creeps up from behind and you are tempted to just settle with anyone for the sake of a title.

Here are some benefits of being single because sometimes we need to be reminded that this moment in our lives is very important.

1.) FINANCES

If you are in debt, broke, or even want to raise your credit score, utilize this time to get it right NOW. This is the perfect time to practice and inherit wise practices that will allow you to save money. When you get married, not only do you inherit a person's last name or give out your last name, you inherit their debt. For example, your debt or credit score can impact your mortgage rate.

Please keep in mind that no one is perfect when it comes to money. Heck, I know that far too well. But don't be discouraged if you do not have a large sum of money saved or still have your student loans or car loan to pay off.

This can be the time to evaluate, plan and execute change. Maybe you need to stop opening multiple store credit cards. Maybe you have to realize that trying to keep up with the Jones's will lead you towards a path of regret.

Whatever it may be, financial stability is empowering. Empower yourself now that you have free time to do so.

2.) PURPOSE. PURPOSE. PURPOSE.

Do you know what your likes and dislikes are? Are you aware of what truly makes you tick? Do you know what you are good at? Do you even know what you are passionate about?

There are some people who rely on another human being to fulfill a desire that only walking in your purpose can truly fill. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be married but if marriage is the only goal you have in life then you will truly miss out on life.

It's great to have a helpmate but they must know what they are helping you with. In order for them to know, YOU must know first. Knowing your purpose is a great filter when you are dating. You realize that you can't just date anyone because they don't fit in your life.

3.) STOP! DROP! LEAVE!

A change of scenery is always refreshing when your current scenery is frustrating, tiring and just plain ole' boring?!

You can leave!!

Yup, that right leave. If you hate your job you can find another one in a new state or even out of the country. If you don't like your car, get a new one.

Why is this such a big deal you may ask?!

You have the freedom to make a choice (good or bad) without jeopardizing or taking into consideration someone else's life.

If you woke up this morning with the idea of joining the Peace Corp, you have the advantage of bringing that idea to life literally. You can send out that application You do not have to take into consideration how that change can impact your spouse which can prevent you from even thinking about going abroad. The sky is not your limit.

There is a possibility that change can actually plant you in a place to meet a special person.

Being single is hard and it can seem to get harder as you get older. That's why it's so important to be reminded of the gifts it brings in the midst of loneliness.

Be encouraged. ❤
